About Gastonia, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Gastonia is the county seat of Gaston County. With over 75,000 residents, it is also the largest city in the county by population. Throughout its history, Gastonia has maintained a strong manufacturing workforce, and it serves as the corporate headquarters for Parkdale Mills. Other manufacturers here include Freightliner LLC, Wix Filtration Corp, and Stabilus. All public schools in the community are served by Gaston County Schools, and there are four public high schools within the city limits: Ashbrook, Forestview, Hunter Huss, and the Highland School of Technology.
There is no shortage of things to see and do in Gastonia. The Shiele Museum of Natural History is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, and it features a variety of unique natural history exhibits. The American Military Museum houses an extensive collection of military memorabilia from past wars and includes a Drum and Bugle Corps section. Racing fans might like a night out at the Carolina Speedway, otherwise known as “The Action Track.” Families with young children may prefer a trip to R.J. Rednour Farms, Lewis Farm, or the Stowe Dairy. Other top destinations in Gastonia include Rankin Lake Park, Martha Rivers Park, and the Little Theater of Gastonia.
Gastonia is found within a humid subtropical climate zone, which is typical of the Southeast. Summers are hot and humid, and daily temperatures frequently reach into the 90s. Central air conditioning systems will keep indoor temperatures cool while also helping to save money on monthly cooling costs, especially systems with high SEER ratings. A central air conditioner is also a good long-term investment and will add value to a home.
While central A/C units get considerable use throughout the year, Gastonia residents also need to select a home heating system. The winter season is cool and relatively short, but overnight freezing temperatures are common. An electric heat pump or furnace powered by natural gas or electricity will keep Gastonia area homes warm throughout the season.
