About Ellenboro, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Ellenboro, North Carolina is a small town located in Rutherford County. Only about 840 people call this community home, and its roots can be traced back to about 1880. At this time, the Seaboard Railroad constructed a line from nearby Rutherfordton to Wilmington, NC. As the highest point found on the line, Ellenboro was born. Ellenboro is also located near the communities of Forest City and Boiling Springs, and it is only 57 miles west of Charlotte.
Despite the small size of Ellenboro, there are a few noteworthy places to visit here. Babbling Brook Farm is a small local farm that raises pygmy goats, ducks, peacocks, and turkeys, and Fagan’s Farm offers produce, a restaurant, and a grocery store. In addition to Fagan’s Farm, other dining options include Randall’s Ellenboro Restaurant and a local Subway. Ellenboro also hosts the annual Fiddlers & Bluegrass Competition in the Ellenboro School Gymtorium, and bands compete for the top prizes.
Varied weather conditions move through Ellenboro throughout the year, as is typical with a humid subtropical climate. Some of the most extreme temperatures occur during the summer, as average daily highs reach about 89 degrees in January. However, there are dozens of days each year in which thermostat readings rise above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is important to have the right climate controls at home. A cost-efficient, quiet, and safe central air conditioner is what many Ellenboro residents use to keep cool during the summer, but the cooling function of a heat pump is also a good option.
A warm autumn season will make way to a cool winter that is fairly short in duration. While average daily highs may reach the upper-40s or low-50s, overnight lows in the 30s are common. When freezing temperatures move into the area, it is important that Ellenboro residents have access to a reliable electric or gas furnace at home.
